Overview

Preferred Materials - Concrete Division, part of CRH South Division, is a leading supplier of construction materials in Florida, seeking a safety-minded individual for the Plant Maintenance Apprentice position. This role involves performing maintenance, repair, and construction functions at the plant while promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect machines and equipment and locate causes of malfunctions
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as needed
• Operate shop equipment such as grinders, band saws, cut-off saws, drill press, forklifts, welders, and cranes
• Install and/or assemble machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other drawings
• Work in all areas of the plant using appropriate PPE at all times
• Maintain a professional attitude while interacting with peers

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a trade school program in electrical, plumbing or welding preferred
• Prior experience working in preventative maintenance highly desired
• Experience working with and troubleshooting electrical and pneumatic switches and systems is ideal
• Must be able to work flexible hours (days, nights, and weekends as needed)
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to identify and complete necessary tasks with little to no supervision
