Overview
The Sheet Metal Edge-Finish Specialist is responsible for grinding, deburring, and edge-finishing precision sheet metal parts to meet customer and industry standards. The role requires attention to detail, collaboration with team members, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Grinding, deburring, and edge-finishing of precision sheet metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and automated systems.
- Removal of burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections to meet customer and industry standards.
- Conducting visual/tactile inspections and dimensional checks with calipers and micrometers to verify accuracy and finish consistency.
- Upkeep and cleaning of finishing equipment; proper disposal of dust and shavings per safety/environmental rules.
- Collaboration with machine operators, welders, and inspectors; assist with material handling and part organization.
- Support cross-training and jump in on related production tasks when needed.
Requirements
- 1+ year in grinding, deburring, or metal finishing (precision sheet metal experience preferred).
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Skilled with hand grinders, deburring tools, and finishing equipment.
- Capable of interpreting blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity for small parts, and reliable work ethic.
- Clear communication and team collaboration.

- Standing for long periods; bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs.; repetitive motions.
- Production setting with metal dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, and management.
- PPE required: gloves, safety glasses, respirators.
- Work hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday and 2:15 PM – 10:45 PM, Monday – Friday with some flexibility based on production needs.
