Overview

Primoris Fleet is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to join their heavy civil construction team in Gonzales, LA. The position involves diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy construction equipment and vehicles, requiring strong mechanical knowledge and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, set up, adjust, lubricate, maintain and repair all types of construction equipment.
• Troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain equipment assets including vehicles, trailers, aerials and yellow iron.
• Repair equipment such as internal combustion engines, air compressors, and pumps.
• Perform welding duties in the repair of equipment.
• Utilize various electronic diagnostic equipment for repairs to electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline and diesel systems.
• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heavy civil construction equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, and skid steers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, and braking systems.
• Maintain and repair commercial trucks, trailers, and company pickup trucks.
• Perform routine service such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, and tire maintenance.
• Work overtime as required by job demands.
• Collaborate in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill depending on mechanic level.
• Must pass post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety in the workplace.
• Must comply with job site safety requirements as required by the client.
• Must wear safety equipment as required by the client.
