Join UCT and be part of the fastest-growing sector in the world! UCT is looking for a talented Welder III to perform precision orbital and TIG welding in a Class 100 cleanroom environment, ensuring compliance with strict quality standards and supporting production goals.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate TIG and orbital welding machines to fabricate assemblies per specifications.
- Perform TIG welding on pipes and tubes ranging from 1/8” to 24” in diameter.
- Review blueprints and determine optimal fabrication methods, tools, and fixtures.
- Conduct dimensional inspections and verify weld quality against established standards.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, laser levels, and framing squares.
- Inspect completed work and perform rework as needed to meet quality requirements.
- Maintain welding equipment and tooling; perform routine and preventive maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for labor reporting, orders, and rejected materials.
- Meet daily production schedules and maintain acceptable on-time performance.
- Follow all safety rules, cleanroom protocols, and company procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- Proficiency in TIG and orbital welding techniques for stainless steel and other metals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
- Strong mathematical skills for measurements and fabrication accuracy.
- Skilled in using clamps, orbital power supplies, weld heads, and precision measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for assembly and fabrication tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide solutions for atypical situations.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of initiative, dependability, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree/equivalent preferred.
- 2-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment or advanced training required.
- 2-4 years of Metal Fabrication.
- 2-4 years of TIG welding of thin wall aluminum, stainless, steel, etc.
