Overview

Main Industries has been serving the marine and industrial market for over 40 years and is hiring for a full-time Marine Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic/Welder at their Hampton, VA location. The company specializes in marine and industrial coatings as well as a variety of scaffolding.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/electronic components.
• Work with 440 VAC powered equipment.
• Make connections of equipment to the distribution panel.
• Understand and carry out verbal directions from a supervisor.
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
• Use basic electrical meters and test equipment.
• Install Russellstoll and Meltric Plug connections.
• Understand Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures.
• Obey all posted warning and hazard signs on job sites.
• Board large vessels via stairs or ladder while carrying tools.

Requirements

• Five years of verified experience as a marine electrician in 440 VAC powered equipment.
• Forklift training/certification is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined and adaptable to shipyard and industrial environments.
• High level of critical thinking and troubleshooting ability.
• Reliable transportation is a must.
• Must pass drug testing and E-Verification of right to work in the US.
• Adherence to Safety and Quality Standards.
