Overview

Fab-Tex, a busy medium/heavy duty truck shop located in western Suffolk, NY, is expanding its service team and looking to hire a reliable, hard-working Truck Welder who specializes in welding truck bodies, equipment trailers, snowplows, sanders, and custom fabricates.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pieces of metal together or repair damage in metal components using heavy machinery.
• Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.
• Install and repair various equipment and component parts.
• Effectively communicate with manager if additional repairs are required or if difficulties arise.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience working on trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
• Experience in automotive/truck/yellow equipment/trailer welding.
• Must provide own tools.
• Experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, plow frames, etc.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, motivation, focus, and organization.
• Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred, but not mandatory).
• Great communication skills within a team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop without sacrificing quality of work.

Additional Information

• Job Type: Full Time or Part Time
• Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour based on skill and experience
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, Flexible Hours, Full-time Day Shift: Mon-Fri 7am-5:30pm, Part-time: 3-5 days, Flexible hours (Day or Night)
• Overtime available, on average 10 hours a week overtime
• Weekend availability
