Overview

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Pipefitter/Plumbing Technician for the 2nd shift to perform and oversee various pipefitting and plumbing duties, ensuring the maintenance and repair of piping systems while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and repair plumbing-related problems based on maintenance or service directives.
  • Install, modify, or repair plumbing systems using blueprints, diagrams, and other instructions.
  • Dispense propane to consumers as required.
  • Respond to emergency facility problems during off-normal shift coverage.
  • Work with various liquids, chemicals, and gases including water, steam, air, and natural gas.
  • Use tools such as pipe benders, threaders, and torches for plumbing tasks.
  • Select and install insulation as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair valves, pumps, and associated equipment.
  • Fabricate and install supports like hangers and brackets.
  • Utilize ladders and powered lifts for repairs.
  • Order parts and maintain plumbing supply stock.
  • Clean wet dust collectors, drains, and ditches.
  • Instruct fellow employees on proper performance of duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes and solve problems.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Previous experience in pipefitting, plumbing, and mechanical repair.

Additional Information

  • 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 12:00am.
  • Training may take place on 1st or 2nd Shift for up to 6 months.
