The Submerged Arc Seam Welder position involves operating welding machinery to create continuous seams on pole shafts, contributing to the production of steel electrical poles and other structures.
Responsibilities
- Fuse metal structural components using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
- Perform welding operations based on planning, layout, and specifications.
- Use hand tools and measuring devices for assembling operations.
- Move pole shafts with an overhead crane and gather necessary materials.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an internal welding test.
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
- Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics.
- Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions.
- Ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety regulations.

- Evening shift from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Wednesday to Saturday.
- Location: 955 North Haverhill Rd, El Dorado, Kansas 67042-4806.
- Starting wage is $26.32/hr plus a $1.50/hr shift differential.
