Position Overview: A 1st Class Shipfitter is responsible for performing layout, cutting, metric measuring, and structural fitting processes on ships.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

• Perform layout and structural fitting processes accurately. \n

• Cut materials using a torch. \n

• Measure materials using metric measurements (cm, mm, etc.). \n

• Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications. \n

• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment. \n

• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently. \n

\n Experience:

\n

• Minimum of 6 months of ship fitting experience. \n

• Ability to accurately perform layout, cutting with a torch, and metric measuring. \n

• Proficiency in structural fitting processes. \n

• Ability to successfully pass a hands-on craft test in accordance with craft classification. \n

\n Skills and Abilities:

\n

• Strong understanding of ship fitting techniques and best practices. \n

• Proficiency in using torches for cutting materials. \n

• Ability to perform accurate measurements using metric units. \n

• Attention to detail and precision in fitting processes. \n

• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. \n

• Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to ship fitting. \n
