Overview

Main Industries has been serving the marine and industrial market for over 40 years, specializing in marine and industrial coatings as well as scaffolding. They are hiring a full-time Marine Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic/Welder in Hampton, VA, seeking a qualified candidate with experience in 440 VAC powered equipment and commercial power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/electronic components.
• Make connections of equipment to the distribution panel.
• Install Russellstoll and Meltric Plug connections.
• Understand and carry out verbal directions from supervisors.
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
• Use basic electrical meters and test equipment.
• Adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures.
• Understand and obey all posted safety signs.
• Board large vessels while carrying necessary tools.

Requirements

• Five years of verified experience as a marine electrician in 440 VAC powered equipment.
• Dependable work record and clean background check.
• DBIDS access to Naval facilities is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined and adaptable to shipyard and industrial environments.
• Forklift training/certification is a plus.
• High level of critical thinking and troubleshooting ability.
• Reliable transportation.
