Overview

The Fitter and Welder position involves welding and fitting skills, including special certifications for various scenarios. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to interpret blueprints while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Competent in welding and fitting skills with all special welding certifications for pipe, tube, CJP scenarios.
• Fit up all types of rigid frame columns, rafters, and beam canopies according to specifications.
• Understand safety rules and precautions necessary for a manufacturing environment.
• Achieve and maintain AWS and CWB certifications.
• Check work assignments and interpret blueprints and/or sketches to determine required parts.
• Measure, mark, count, and locate components on/in an assembly.
• Advise Team Leader of any discrepancies in and/or shortages of required parts.
• Position sub-assemblies on parts using clamping devices and material handling equipment.
• Use tools and measuring devices to join parts according to blueprints and specifications.
• Weld components in place using various welding and cutting techniques.
• Align parts and bevel or cut flanges, webs, and stiffeners as required.
• Install metal tags to identify parts and use personal identification stamp when operation is completed.
• Maintain correct numerical and alphabetical sequences.
• Practice continuous improvement in the work area.
• May be assigned other projects or duties as designated by Team Leader.

Requirements

• Competence in welding and fitting skills.
• Ability to achieve and maintain AWS and CWB certifications.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Knowledge of safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Information

• Base pay starts at $21.50 per hour plus $1.00 shift differential.
• 2nd Shift: Starts at 6:00PM.
