Job Description
Overview
The TIG Welder AM position involves preparing, tack welding, and welding Aerospace grades of materials into customer-defined configurations. The role requires expertise in welding thin wall materials such as Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium, while adhering to customer specifications and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, tack weld, and weld Aerospace grades of tube-sheet and plate.
- Use weld jigs, assembly fixtures, and blueprints to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure acceptable welds per customer specifications.
- Assess welds for cleanliness and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain knowledge of welding characteristics of various metals.
- Lay out, measure, and align metal workpieces prior to welding.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Select and install torch tips and filler rods according to material thickness.
- Maintain a clean work station following 5S and safety requirements.
- Use required PPE for the department.
