Overview

Eddie Kane Steel Products is a family-owned business with over 26 years of experience in the steel industry, seeking a full-time Welder who demonstrates skilled craftsmanship in welding and fitting activities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate skilled craftsmanship with all welding and fitting activities.
• Move raw material, work in process, and finished goods into and between work centers.
• Operate hand and power tools to clean finished materials and complete minor repairs.
• Operate machinery for secondary operations such as drilling, punching, bending, grinding, torch cutting, shearing, and flattening.
• Move finished material onto skids for final packaging.
• Maintain pace with equipment operators to ensure smooth material flow.
• Read, interpret, and understand job requirements of each customer order.
• Communicate with foreman to ensure complete understanding of all information.
• Use basic measuring tools to maintain quality standards on each order.
• Communicate all pertinent job-related information to foreman daily.
• Report any problems or quality concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2-3 years prior experience.
• Basic reading and mathematical skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, squat, stand or walk for extended periods.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
