Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and overall upkeep of the organization's industrial machinery, equipment, and facilities. This position requires mechanics to be available for emergencies and scheduled overtime repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform industrial mechanic work including construction, repairs, maintenance, installation, modification, inspections, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks related to building facilities, plumbing, HVAC, and lighting.
  • Work on pumps, blowers, compressors, bearings, valves, heat exchangers, hydraulic systems, boilers, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and other industrial equipment.
  • Take precision measurements, including laser alignment.
  • Review and follow all safety rules, procedures, and practices.
  • Actively participate in all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security training, policies, and programs.
  • Use Asset Essentials Plant Maintenance Module to maintain records of maintenance activities.
  • Complete assigned work safely and per Kuehne's timeline and standards, identifying any deviations and providing input on areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and relevant departments to address maintenance needs and improve equipment reliability.
  • Follow and maintain 5S organization and housekeeping best practices.
  • Properly use, store, and maintain tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements

  • High school or GED preferred.
  • 1-year experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability.
  • Proficient at taking precision measurements, including precision laser alignment.
  • Working knowledge of drawings and P&IDs.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic, be dependable, and show initiative and ownership.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexibility in approach to tasks and openness to change.
  • PC skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to serve on the plant Emergency Services Team, if needed.
  • Good working knowledge of at least one of the following trades: Welder, Pipe Fitter, Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic fabrication/repairs, Millwright, Carpentry, Pump specialist, Boiler Operator, or related trade school graduate.
  • Capability to use fall suppression equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a 10-panel controlled substance testing and random testing thereafter.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation check and maintain good standing order as per TSA’s TWIC criteria.
