Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician II position involves ensuring the optimal functioning of equipment and machinery through corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and installing new equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of various mechanical and electrical systems and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Manually clean, dismantle, replace, and repair defective machines or components.
  • Locate malfunctions using observation and test instruments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance per defined schedules.
  • Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment.
  • Set up and operate metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Inspect and measure parts to detect wear or misalignment.
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot machines.
  • Use equipment to move or locate machinery.
  • Maintain tools, parts, materials, and work area.
  • Serve as a liaison with vendors as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report safety issues.
  • Work effectively as a team member and communicate status of work.
  • Understand and demonstrate company culture and core values.
  • Contribute to department key performance indicators.
  • Mentor new employees and teach repair techniques.
  • Document repairs in a CMMS database.
  • Assist in maintaining and creating preventative and corrective procedures.
  • Maintain and enhance technical abilities through training.

Requirements

  • Two or four-year certificate from a college or technical school, or five to ten years of related experience.
  • Two to five years of preventative or corrective maintenance experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic prints or schematics.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in different forms.
  • Ability to use a respirator if needed due to exposure to particulate levels.

Additional Information

  • Second Shift position.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
