Overview
The Welder/Fabricator position involves daily metal fabrication and welding, primarily focusing on structural welding. The successful applicant will work in a steel fabrication shop and may occasionally be required to work at remote job sites.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with plant manager, shop supervisor, customer, drafter, and peers to produce finished products.
- Utilize modern welding techniques and equipment.
- Apply knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys and aluminum.
- Perform finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
- Respond effectively to questions and inquiries concerning assembly and welding.
- Utilize knowledge of machines, welding practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences for assembly and welding.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Familiarize with product assembly and application.
- Maintain a strong organization and self-motivation while working independently and within teams.
- Demonstrate strong oral communication skills.
- Manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations.
- Maintain safety consciousness and good housekeeping practices.
- Work with minimum supervision and self-check for completeness and accuracy of work.
Requirements
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand detail design prints.
- Proficient in modern welding techniques and equipment.
- Good working knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys and aluminum.
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Familiarity with product assembly and application.
- Working knowledge of welding shop operations.
- Highly organized and self-motivated individual.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 5 AM to 1:30 PM.
- Location is Kansas City, MO.
- Occasional work at remote job sites in rock or asphalt quarries or other industrial job sites.
