Overview

The Welder I position at Radius HDD involves hand welding components for Radius HDD tools, operating robotic welding machines, and performing assembly tasks. The role requires reading blueprints, using various tools, and ensuring quality control in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Read information from blueprints, technical manuals, or other documents.
• Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
• Use a hoist to lift and position large components and completed weldments.
• Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components.
• Remove components from fixtures, clean and check them for quality, and correct errors or deficiencies of weldments.
• Use a computer to check the location, inventory, routing of parts, and to record inventory transactions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Have appropriate MIG welding experience or completed a formal welding training program.
• Pass required entry-level plate test for production welding.
• Have appropriate mechanical skills, including experience using hand and air-powered tools.
• Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills.

Additional Information

• Work schedule is 2nd Shift, 3:30 PM-12:00 AM, Monday-Friday.
• Typical starting pay is $18.76/hr.-$23.00/hr., plus $2.50 shift differential.
• Manufacturing plant conditions with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt.
• Use of personal protective equipment is required.
• Variable work schedule with overtime paid after 40 hours per week and some scheduled work on Saturdays.
