Overview

The North America team is seeking a Welder for the 1st shift at the Taylorville, IL facility. The Welder will ensure quality welds on materials according to specifications, contributing to the production of reliable and innovative equipment solutions for the agricultural sector.

Responsibilities

• Use MIG welder to assemble metal products to specification.
• Set-up, adjust, program, and perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment.
• Produce strong, penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous and consistent.
• Follow required procedures and use appropriate jigs and fixtures in the assembly and welding process.
• Utilize quality checks to meet product standards.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area to 5S Standards.
• Implement all aspects of Lean and Quality Management systems.
• Follow required safety and work procedures.
• Willingness to cross-train in other job functions such as Assembly and Machining.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, technical degree or certificate in welding preferred.
• Previous welding experience required.
• Ability to use various tools including tape measure, hand grinder, plasma cutter, and acetylene torch.
• Ability to read blueprints and use basic math skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and across departments.
• Must pass Grain & Protein Technologies weld test and certification.

Additional Information

• Onsite role based in Taylorville, IL.
• Employee works with and near large machinery and equipment daily.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Employee is exposed to extreme temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F.
• Employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
