Overview
Technique is seeking a Robotic Welding Technician for their North Carolina chassis facility. This hands-on position involves MIG/TIG welding, quality assurance support, robotic welding operations, and requires advanced technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Set up the welder and perform GTAW & GMAW welding on mild steel joints.
- Demonstrate ability to set up and troubleshoot the projection welder.
- Pass basic blueprint reading test and perform 1st piece table layouts.
- Understand build issues and troubleshoot prototype welding.
- Load and run the robot welder in auto mode and recover from faults.
- Understand CMM reports and troubleshoot from CMM data.
- Change programs from the PLC screen and perform fixture changeovers.
- Make advanced adjustments on robotic welders and troubleshoot independently.
- Utilize offline programming software to prepare jobs and implement process improvements.
- Support the quality assurance team with part layouts and inspections.
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of production fixturing.
- Follow all company and department-specific safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of welding experience in an industrial setting.
- Basic understanding of GD&T and print reading.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and layout/inspection tools.
- Preferred robotic welding experience with Motoman, Panasonic, or Fanuc systems.
- Experience with PLC programming and robotic system calibration preferred.
- Ability to perform robotic welder preventative maintenance.
- Desired: advanced GD&T understanding and advanced layout/inspection procedures.
- Very active position requiring physical stamina and ability to lift over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision and depth perception.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to hazards.

Additional Information
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- The position operates on a Monday–Thursday schedule with flexibility required.
