Overview

The Port of Seattle is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a temporary position lasting five months. The role involves performing mechanical maintenance on baggage handling systems and other equipment while ensuring high service levels under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on baggage handling systems, overhead doors, security gates, and passenger loading bridges.
• Complete both corrective and preventive maintenance and respond to trouble calls.
• Conduct mechanical and metal work including welding, burning, grinding, turning, cutting, threading, drilling, and shaping parts.

Requirements

• Five years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance at the journey person level on airport baggage handling systems or manufacturing equipment.
• Structural welding certification is desired.
• Knowledge and experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and MS software.
• Strong skills as a machinist, welder, and mechanic, with the ability to read and understand technical manuals.
• Ability to work safely and effectively under pressure with team members and airline customers.

Additional Information
