Job Description

Overview

RS Industrial Arts is a leading designer and fabricator of custom architectural signage and environmental graphics, seeking a Sign Fabricator to join their production team. This role offers an opportunity to advance fabrication skills in a fast-paced, high-quality shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate custom architectural signage including monument signs, cabinet signs, illuminated signage, channel letters, and architectural structures.
  • Interpret and execute shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents with minimal oversight.
  • Perform advanced metal fabrication tasks including cutting, forming, fitting, welding, and finishing (aluminum and steel).
  • Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and collaborate with production management, design, and field teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain a high level of work quality and perform regular quality control inspections.
  • Mentor and support apprentice and junior fabricators, promoting best practices and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support material handling and receiving as needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on sign fabrication or architectural metal fabrication experience.
  • Strong MIG welding skills; TIG welding & laser welding experience is desirable.
  • Ability to independently read, interpret, and execute complex shop drawings.
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment including saws, shears, brakes, rollers, and ironworker machine.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical components for illuminated signage.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high standard for fit, finish, and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Information

  • Full-time, in-house position
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts
  • OT and weekends may be required
  • Benefits eligible after 90 days
  • Compensation based on experience and qualifications
