Overview

The Rogers Group is a family-owned network of businesses seeking a Welder for 1st and 3rd shift opportunities in Clare, MI. The role involves joining, fabricating, and repairing metal materials while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Position parts according to work orders, routings, prints, and knowledge of the unit.
• Regulate machine for proper weld current, wire feed, and gas flow.
• Join two pieces of steel or aluminum by heating to a temperature high enough for proper fusion.
• Ensure that the fit, function, and cosmetics meet or exceed quality expectations.
• Remove weld imperfections from the surface of products.
• Record all labor, downtime, scrap, rework, and document all information pertaining to each work order.
• Implement and complete all welding and related tasks assigned by team leaders.
• Maintain company safety regulations to provide a clean and healthy work environment.
• Confer with team leaders on any problems regarding safety, quality, production, inventory, or customer service.
• Attend training for welding, fabrication, and safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of welding experience.
• Blueprint and welding symbol knowledge preferred.
• Basic math skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the English language.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to solve practical problems in the fabrication process.
• Frequent manual and finger dexterity required.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach, crouch, or kneel.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly.
