Overview
The Pressure Pipe Fabrication Welder position requires a skilled individual proficient in MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding techniques, capable of producing high-quality welds on various pipe sizes. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to specifications in a shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld pressure pipe using MIG, TIG, and Fluxcore processes.
- Run pinwheel (rolled) and positional welds on 6" pipe across Schedules 40 to 160.
- Produce full-pen TIG welds on 2" pipe that meet stringent quality requirements.
- Decipher welding symbols, blueprints, and specifications/WPS.
- Validate work against required codes and internal quality standards.
- Keep equipment in top shape and the shop area safe and clean.
- Adhere to all safety procedures at every step.
Requirements
- 1+ year of welding in a shop environment.
- Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and Flux-Cored techniques.
- Experience welding pipe in both rolled (pinwheel) and positional orientations.
- Ability to weld 6" Schedule 40–160 and 2" pipe using TIG with full penetration.
- Strong command of welding fundamentals, materials, and safety.
- Comfortable reading prints and following weld procedures.
