Overview

Avient is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift, responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure optimal operation while minimizing costs. The role offers competitive pay and benefits in a stable work environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots mechanical devices and replaces defective parts.
• Sets up and operates shop machinery and uses hand tools for repairs.
• Installs and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Completes projects with minimal guidance to reduce equipment downtime.
• Improves equipment reliability and uptime with a preventive maintenance approach.
• Operates forklifts and hydraulic working platforms as needed.
• Researches supplies and maintains inventory of parts.
• Updates required paperwork including maintenance logs and documents.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Technical School degree or equivalent experience.
• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Mathematical skills for basic calculations and conversions.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting control systems and mechanical devices.
• Experience in maintenance fields such as plumbing, refrigeration, and welding.
• Competent PC skills, including MS Office and Windows.
