Overview
Avient is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift, responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure optimal operation while minimizing costs. The role offers competitive pay and benefits in a stable work environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots mechanical devices and replaces defective parts.
- Sets up and operates shop machinery and uses hand tools for repairs.
- Installs and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Completes projects with minimal guidance to reduce equipment downtime.
- Improves equipment reliability and uptime with a preventive maintenance approach.
- Operates forklifts and hydraulic working platforms as needed.
- Researches supplies and maintains inventory of parts.
- Updates required paperwork including maintenance logs and documents.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Technical School degree or equivalent experience.
- Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
- Mathematical skills for basic calculations and conversions.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting control systems and mechanical devices.
- Experience in maintenance fields such as plumbing, refrigeration, and welding.
- Competent PC skills, including MS Office and Windows.
