Overview

The Journeyman Welder position involves performing welding duties under general supervision, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company procedures. The role requires qualifications to produce welds that meet the standards of the Office of Pipeline Safety.

Responsibilities

• Performs work in a safe manner and complies with all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates welding equipment.
• Makes welded joints in pipeline and service installations and in meter and regulator sets.
• Fabricates or repairs metal parts and reinforces or resurfaces metal parts for structures or equipment.
• Utilizes knowledge of reactions of various metals to heat and proper types and sizes of welding rods.
• Interprets drawings and symbols and performs necessary measurements and layout work in fabrication.
• Performs pipefitting to close tolerances.
• Leads in the welding of gas systems and equipment in accordance with welding requirements.
• Operates main drilling, stopping, and tapping equipment.
• Maintains work area in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
• Leads, trains, and instructs employees in their work.
