Overview
Avient is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team, responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure optimal operation. The role offers competitive pay and a range of benefits, emphasizing safety and community impact.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation and repairs defective parts.
- Sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathes and welders.
- Installs or repairs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
- Completes projects with minimal guidance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment with a preventive maintenance approach.
- Operates forklifts and hydraulic working platforms as needed.
- Researches supplies, parts, and tools needed to complete work orders.
- Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.
- Contributes to upkeep of required paperwork such as maintenance logs and manuals.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Technical School degree or equivalent experience.
- Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
- Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and conversions.
