Job Description
Overview
The Pipefitter works in the Facility Management Service for the Phoenix VA Healthcare System (PVAHCS), focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and plumbing equipment and services, along with troubleshooting and corrective actions for system failures.
Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems including faucets, toilets, and sinks.
- Troubleshoots and repairs various plumbing systems and equipment.
- Installs, modifies, and repairs high-pressure piping systems and equipment.
- Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan plumbing and steam piping systems.
- Responsible for performance of mandated tests and inspections of medical gas systems and fire safety systems.
- Troubleshoots plumbing and steam equipment that fails tests and inspections.
