Overview

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder I for an onsite position in West Des Moines, Iowa. This entry-level role involves learning basic welding operations under supervision, with opportunities for growth and certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding tasks with minimal supervision.
• Learn and operate automatic and manual welding machines according to specifications.
• Perform cleaning operations after welding to maintain production quality.
• Inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments.
• Learn alloy and assembly operations for furnace operations.
• Operate CNC equipment as required to complete welding processes.
• Perform non-production welds and support specialized welding tasks.
• Accurately read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets.
• Complete production documentation with accuracy.
• Support and adhere to all rules and guidelines set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement processes.
• Work extended shifts or overtime hours as required.

Requirements

• Typically requires HS diploma or equivalent (e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
