About The Role
Fabricate metal details, pieces or products using a variety of hand tools and welding equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate weldments and assemblies. MIG/TIG aluminum, stainless, and steel in a variety of thicknesses and positions. Utilize handheld tools such as grinders and weld stud guns. Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other inspection hand tools Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times Create specific welding set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualification Requirements
3-5 Years Experience as a metal fabricator High School Diploma or GED Basic reading skills, must be able to follow directions Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem High attention to detail and self-motivation skills Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
Physical Demands
Regularly lift 30-50 pounds Regularly perform repetitive tasks Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane
