Overview
Stepp is a full manufacturing facility for asphalt maintenance equipment, aiming to be a world-class manufacturer and leading supplier. The Welder position focuses on MIG and Pulse welding techniques for fabricating large hoppers and tanks, ensuring leak-proof processes according to established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication and welding operations for large hoppers and tanks, ensuring leak-proof processes.
- Set-up and operate Miller Axcess 40v wire feeder and Miller Axcess 300 pulse welder.
- Weld tank and hopper walls using MIG and Pulse practices.
- Use jigs and fixtures for day-to-day operations.
- Self-inspect and evaluate product quality before forwarding.
- Support the Company's business operations through other necessary duties.
- Meet or exceed pre-established performance objectives.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S guidelines.
- Follow work direction and training from higher-level welding personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying process improvements.
- Work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- Must have a welding background strong in MIG and Pulse techniques.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- 2-3 years MIG and/or Pulse Weld experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
- Skilled in basic structural weld joints such as T, Lap, Corner to corner, Butt.
- Consistently weld to leak-proof standards.
- Knowledge of material identification including steel, aluminum, and stainless.
- Mathematical problem-solving ability.
- Ability to grip with hands/fingers for sustained periods.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is 4x10 Monday - Thursday with overtime available.
- Some flexibility available upon prior agreement with manager.
- Starting wage range is $20-$30 hourly, plus $3 shift differential for 2nd shift.
