Overview

The Welder I position involves performing welding tasks, ensuring quality and safety in a manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to ITAR standards and involves working with various machinery and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Welds on jobs as assigned.
  • Periodically reviews welding to ensure adequate weld size and penetration.
  • Discusses any problems found with a lead person, project manager, or QC department.
  • Performs correct setup and operation of all assigned machinery.
  • Maintains clean and safe working areas.
  • Obtains correct consumables and tools from Tool Room Attendant.
  • Gives feedback to project manager or job lead regarding job conditions or issues.
  • Looks for ways to increase efficiency and quality in work.
  • May be required to perform field work as necessary.

Requirements

  • 2/3G certification required; 6G certification preferred.
  • 1 year of experience welding at a 2/3G level; 2-3 years’ experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with semi-automated weld process and setup.
  • Understands blueprints and part layouts.
  • Can safely and properly rig work pieces.
  • Can safely and efficiently operate man-lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Must be able to perform sustained periods of grinding and needle scaling.
  • Piping experience preferred.

  • Manufacturing environment may expose employees to loud noises, changing temperatures, and machinery with moving parts.
  • This is a Safety Sensitive position.
