Overview
The Welder I position involves performing welding tasks, ensuring quality and safety in a manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to ITAR standards and involves working with various machinery and tools.
Responsibilities
- Welds on jobs as assigned.
- Periodically reviews welding to ensure adequate weld size and penetration.
- Discusses any problems found with a lead person, project manager, or QC department.
- Performs correct setup and operation of all assigned machinery.
- Maintains clean and safe working areas.
- Obtains correct consumables and tools from Tool Room Attendant.
- Gives feedback to project manager or job lead regarding job conditions or issues.
- Looks for ways to increase efficiency and quality in work.
- May be required to perform field work as necessary.
Requirements
- 2/3G certification required; 6G certification preferred.
- 1 year of experience welding at a 2/3G level; 2-3 years’ experience preferred.
- Demonstrate ability to work with semi-automated weld process and setup.
- Understands blueprints and part layouts.
- Can safely and properly rig work pieces.
- Can safely and efficiently operate man-lifts and scissor lifts.
- Must be able to perform sustained periods of grinding and needle scaling.
- Piping experience preferred.

- Manufacturing environment may expose employees to loud noises, changing temperatures, and machinery with moving parts.
- This is a Safety Sensitive position.
