Overview

TICO is an equipment logistics solutions company based in Savannah, operating since 1946, with a need for a Welder/Mechanic at their Charleston location to perform repairs and maintenance on transport trailers.

Responsibilities

• Read job orders and technical service bulletins to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
• Perform complete routine, diagnostic, and post-repair inspections on transport trailers.
• Comply with all established industry safety norms and quality control measures.
• Perform regular servicing and maintenance of equipment, maintaining related service records.
• Cut off damaged or broken supports, brackets, and other components.
• Replace or repair parts as necessary and inspect air brakes.
• Repair or replace axles, bearings, airlines, and trailer valves.
• Perform repairs to suspension components and replace wheel seals.
• Review work orders requesting welding repair and weld metal parts using various processes.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components for welding.
• Perform thermal cutting and grinding as needed.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Perform minor repairs on terminal tractors and conduct test drives.
• Document work hours, parts utilized, and work performed.
• Provide assistance to other mechanics as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.
• TWIC card.
• Forklift operator certification.
• Maintain all certifications required by OSHA and Company safety programs.
