Job Description

Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols Measure, cut, align, and fit metal components Perform MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, or aluminum materials Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, saws, torches, and presses Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and quality Maintain proper weld dimensions and tolerances Use measuring tools including tape measures, squares, calipers, and levels Follow OSHA and workplace safety procedures Repair or rework defective welds and assemblies Maintain welding equipment and work area cleanliness

Required Skills & Qualifications Experience with MIG welding and metal fabrication Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols Knowledge of welding safety practices Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods Familiarity with hand and power tools Good math and measurement skills AWS certification preferred but not always required

Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred 1–5 years of MIG welding/fitting experience commonly required Technical school or welding program training is a plus
