Responsibilities

  • Identify problems and make necessary adjustments related to industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators.
  • Operate manual machining tools, including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines.
  • Safely use overhead and gantry cranes and associate with lift rigging.
  • Perform mechanical measurements using portable mechanical instruments such as dial indicators and micrometers.

Requirements

  • Able to perform basic math functions.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of fabrication and welding experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience in an electric motor repair shop or heavy industrial maintenance environment preferred.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, technical drawings, and tape measure dimensions accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication practices, material properties, and welding techniques.
  • Ability to use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, levels, squares, and micrometers.
  • Able to understand and perform various job-related training and safety procedures.
  • Excellent technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
