Responsibilities
- Identify problems and make necessary adjustments related to industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators.
- Operate manual machining tools, including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines.
- Safely use overhead and gantry cranes and associate with lift rigging.
- Perform mechanical measurements using portable mechanical instruments such as dial indicators and micrometers.
Requirements
- Able to perform basic math functions.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of fabrication and welding experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- Experience in an electric motor repair shop or heavy industrial maintenance environment preferred.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding; additional certifications are a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, technical drawings, and tape measure dimensions accurately.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication practices, material properties, and welding techniques.
- Ability to use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, levels, squares, and micrometers.
- Able to understand and perform various job-related training and safety procedures.
- Excellent technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining high quality standards.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
