Overview

The Mechanical Fitter/Welder position at Siemens Energy involves working with stainless steel pipes for gas turbine and compressor packages. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, interpretation of technical drawings, and performing welding tasks while contributing to the company's mission of decarbonizing the industrial sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform work following all safety procedures and policies.
• Read and interpret drawings and schematics.
• Weld, tack, and certify mechanical welding as required.
• Operate cutting rigs, welding machinery, and measuring tools.
• Review and interpret complex assembly instructions, specifications, and blueprints.
• Use and understand computers.
• Inventory, clean, and visually inspect all components.
• Stage all equipment needed for assembly and safely offload incoming parts using proper lifting and rigging equipment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or 10+ years relevant experience with Stainless Steel Welding.
• 5+ years relevant experience in welding and fabricating of stainless-steel pipe for the assembly of rotating equipment packaging and testing.
• Experience and training in welding and cutting tools and processes.
• Ability to inspect, repair, replace, install, and maintain all mechanical components and assemblies on gas turbines and compressor associated packages.
• Qualification of pipe WPSs and welding personnel shall conform to ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code.
