Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic 2nd Class is a skilled maintenance position responsible for ensuring plant safety and equipment functionality. The role involves participation in safety programs, maintenance tasks, and teamwork to implement effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Participate in safety, quality, and maintenance programs.
- Perform cleanup duties and communicate safety concerns.
- Engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
- Utilize problem-solving tools to improve equipment performance.
- Install, modify, and maintain plant equipment.
- Read and analyze blueprints and technical data.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential equipment issues.
- Understand and apply hydraulic and electrical systems principles.
- Support training and development of colleagues.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
- Five years of experience in a related maintenance trade preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of welding practices and hydraulic circuitry.
- Advanced understanding of electrical circuitry.
- Basic PLC knowledge and ability to read schematics.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Effective communication skills in English.
