Overview
The Aerospace Welder position involves performing precision TIG welding with minimal supervision in an aerospace manufacturing environment. The role requires proficiency in welding various assemblies using aerospace materials and adherence to quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on production assemblies of advanced complexity with minimal supervision.
- Execute basic to advanced TIG welding operations including T joints, butt joints, and corner welds.
- Weld stainless steel and/or aluminum materials in accordance with internal and aerospace specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, and work instructions to produce conforming parts.
- Maintain consistent weld quality while meeting production and quality requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting and working with fixturing.
Requirements
- Proficiency in aerospace TIG welding in accordance with customer specifications.
- Ability to TIG weld stainless steel and/or aluminum across qualified thickness ranges and positions.
- Ability to accurately assess weld quality, including recognition of oxidation coloration.
- Ability to pass internal AWS D17.1 weld testing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- 1-5+ years of professional TIG welding experience in a production, manufacturing, or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- GED or High School diploma required; work experience acceptable in lieu of formal education.
Additional Information
- 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 1:30PM – 10:00PM.
- Paid On-The-Job Training Schedule: 8-12 weeks on 1st shift (5:00AM – 1:30PM).
