Overview
Airgas is hiring a Field Service Technician in Santa Fe Springs, CA, to support the installation and repair of cryogenic and high-pressure piping systems. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and customer service while offering a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair high pressure cylinder piping systems and cryogenic equipment.
- Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance checks on cryogenic pressure vessels and production equipment.
- Collaborate to install and troubleshoot Telemetry.
- Contribute to installations, inspections, and repairs of cryogenic and high pressure piping systems.
- Support the service and maintenance of compressors, pumps, and other equipment.
- Identify and communicate service needs to the manager.
- Maintain an inventory of parts needed for service and maintenance.
- Submit completed service orders, estimates, and invoices to the manager.
- Nurture excellent customer connections.
- Participate in company safety meetings and maintain general office housekeeping.
- Support the team flow by participating in the on-call program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- College or technical degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of diagnostic and/or repair experience in cryogenics or high pressure piping.
- Experience in the HVAC or plumbing industry with hands-on welding/brazing skills.
- Ability to understand piping and tank detail from manuals and mechanical drawings.
- Valid California driver’s license and good DMV report.
- Strong math skills and ability to calculate figures and units of measure.
- Customer service oriented with professional interaction skills.
- Ability to prioritize service activities effectively.
- Initiative to problem solve and troubleshoot.
- Ability to work safely under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team player attitude with good organizational skills.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime.

- Work schedule: Monday-Friday with morning shifts.
- Occasional scheduled overnight stays.
