The Structural Mechanic 4 position at Gulfstream in Van Nuys involves performing various structural assembly operations in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations.
• Use complicated schematics, engineering drawings, and technical instructions to safely perform layout, fabrication, and installation of parts.
• Rivet structural assemblies and parts using required tools.
• Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
• Check all work and ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
• Mentor, train, and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints and engineering orders.
• Maintain and use all logs and records.
• Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs and holding fixtures.
• Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags and perform necessary rework.
• Plan and organize workloads and resource requirements to meet or exceed goal hours.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with all safety regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 years related structural assembly experience.
• Experience working with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred.
• Q-stamp preferred.
• Good working knowledge of computers and related software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Skilled in close tolerance work and knowledge of special tools and equipment.
• Ability to use mathematical formulas and solve dimensional problems.
• Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work in small spaces.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
