Saks Fifth Avenue is a leading destination for luxury fashion, dedicated to helping customers express themselves through inspiring style. The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for minor maintenance tasks and coordinating major repairs within the building.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate General Facilities activities for the entire physical plant.
• Supervise renovations and remodels.
• Manage in store workers contacted from NG&G.
• Maintain lighting and ballast supplies including change bulbs as necessary.
• Supervise housekeeping staff to ensure maintenance of Store Standards.
• Conduct Facilities Audits and Inspections.
• Perform Store Opening Duties.
• Perform POS / Scanner Repairs and basic POS Maintenance.
• Perform touch up and spot painting and complete repairs to fixtures, carpet, flooring, hinges, locks.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Support floor moves and fixture / cash wrap movement.
• Respond to store emergency calls and situations.
• Monitor trash hauling compactor.
• Be a Member of Store Safety Committee.
• Maintain and track work orders, Kone repairs, and purchase orders.
• Approve and maintain records of contract labor.
• Coordinate telephone and PC/CRT repairs.
• Develop and utilize inspection checklists.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of facilities operations experience.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.
• Well organized and maintaining accurate records.
• Possesses basic computer skills and knowledge.
• Business acumen.
• Team building skills.
