Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $124960 - $165572. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Engineering? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Advanced Manufacturing group. As a Staff Engineer - Robotic Welding Systems, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.
Staff Engineer - Robotic Welding Systems is responsible for leading the planning, deployment, and continuous improvement of robotic welding systems used in production. This role drives automation strategies, system design, equipment integration, programming, and team development to ensure high-quality, high-throughput welding processes. The role serves as a technical expert driving innovation and reliability in robotic welding across assembly lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering, programming, and integration of robotic welding systems across multiple manufacturing lines. Lead the specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new robotic welding cells and automation equipment. Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure optimal weld joint design and system compatibility. Support continuous improvement efforts through weld optimization, cycle time reduction, and automation upgrades. Stay updated on advancements in robotic welding, vision systems, sensors, and Industry 4.0 technologies. Provide technical training and mentorship to engineers, weld technicians, and operators.
Additional Functions
Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required. Communicate effectively and respectfully with others. Other responsibilities as assigned.BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering degree with equivalent experience
Preferred
Master's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Lean Six Sigma certification

Required:
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
8+ years of demonstrated experience in designing and implementing processes within a high-volume, high-mix or semi automated manufacturing environment. Expertise in manufacturing engineering strategies and tools with extensive knowledge in value stream mapping, lean six sigma, DFMA, and manufacturing systems design. Proven record of leading projects with challenging scope, schedule and cost targets from concept through validation and sustainment. Adept business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems to identify high impact opportunities, guide informed decisions, solve challenging issues, and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement. Excellent organization and communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation); able to interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from senior executives to support staff, and present compellingly to achieve buy-in from executives, managers, and team members. Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience. Ability to travel as required.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting - Continuously required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based tasks for hours at a time. Walking - Occasionally required to walk moderate distances across the S&C campus. Lifting - Infrequently required to solo lift supplies weighing from 5 to 20 pounds and some operation of hand carts. Observation / Eyesight - Infrequently required to observe details at close range, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors. Communication - Frequently required to talk and hear, in person and by phone/conference calls. Travel - Infrequent travel and work extended hours. Potential to travel overnight.
Environmental and Hazardous Conditions
Frequently working on the shop floor and office-based environment.
