Overview

As a Trades Specialist (Plumber & Steamfitter) at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center, you will perform journey level plumbing and steamfitting work while supervising others in the installation, alteration, and repair of various systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey level plumbing and steamfitting work.
• Supervise others in the installation, alteration, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with specifications and plumbing codes.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in plumbing and steamfitting.
• Working knowledge of applicable standards and plumbing and electrical code regulations.
• Ability to train and supervise others.
• Ability to plan and lay out work and diagnose problems.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, architectural blueprints, and specifications.
• Successful completion of a NYS two-year Trades Specialist (Plumber & Steamfitter) program or equivalent.
• Four years of full-time experience in plumbing under a skilled journey-level plumber may substitute for training.
