Required: • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification • Valid Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) certification • Valid Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification • Prior experience performing steel shop inspections at a fabrication facility • Strong working knowledge of AWS D1.1, AISC, ASTM, and other relevant industry standards • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, erection drawings, and welding procedure specifications (WPS) • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to fabrication shops and job sites as needed

Preferred: • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification • ASNT Level II certification in MT and UT • Experience with NYC DOB, DDC, DASNY, NY Steel Construction Manual or Port Authority projects • Familiarity with high-strength bolting inspection per RCSC and AISC 360

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform visual weld inspection of structural steel during and after fabrication in accordance with AWS D1.1 and project specifications • Conduct Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on welds and base material as required • Verify material identification, grade, and conformance with mill test reports and approved submittals • Review and confirm compliance with approved shop drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and welder qualifications • Inspect fit-up, dimensional tolerances, and surface preparation prior to welding • Identify defects, non-conformances, and deviations; document findings and coordinate corrective actions with the fabricator • Prepare and submit clear, accurate, and timely inspection reports to the project team and client • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to resolve quality issues and support project schedules • Maintain calibration records and ensure proper use and care of NDT equipment • Adhere to all company, fabricator, and jobsite safety policies and procedures
