Overview
Put your advanced welding skills to work where they matter most. This senior-level field role based in Kingman, AZ involves traveling to customer job sites to perform critical welding, maintenance, and repair while mentoring junior technicians and solving complex problems independently.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer job sites to perform on-site welding, maintenance, and repair work
- Set up, align and operate weld positioning equipment in varying jobsite conditions
- Troubleshoot weld positioners
- Set-up and operate sub arc welding
- Safely and correctly operate the shear, brake, rolls, iron worker, horizontal press and horizontal saw
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Troubleshoot and repair fabrication shop tools
- Operate pattern torch
- Participate in quoting estimates (e.g. staff hours, materials, etc.)
- Set up and operate oxygen acetylene equipment
- Complete super coupon welds with GTAW root
- Complete hot pass followed by SMAW fill
- Complete cover passes on carbon steel in 6G position (including stainless steel) and 6010 electrode root
- Complete cover on carbon steel in 6G position and GTAW root
- Identify and use appropriate filler materials
- Cut, fit and use simple pipe runs
- Read and interpret basic shop sketches and drawings
- Read and interpret difficult isometric drawings and blueprints
- Perform dye penetrant to accurately visual inspection
- Perform tube welds (i.e. tube to header weld)
- Complete Q.A. welding packages with minimal supervision
- Regularly mentor & train junior technicians and respond to queries
- Provide root cause failure analysis of complex products/systems without assistance
- Regularly provide equipment/system/process/training recommendations to improve reliability and/or performance
- May direct day-to-day work of others in team as needed
- Maintain strong focus on safety, customer communication, and jobsite professionalism
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
- Advanced welding certifications, including SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW in all positions
- Proven ability to complete 6G welds on carbon and stainless steel
- Strong knowledge of welding procedures, materials, and fabrication techniques
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and isometric drawings
- Experience with NDE methods and quality control processes
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to mentor and support team development
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
