Overview

The Central Arizona Project (CAP) is seeking a Heavy Overhaul Mechanic to provide journeyman-level technical expertise in maintaining industrial mechanical systems across a 336-mile water supply system in Arizona. The role involves preventive maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy industrial equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical duties associated with preventive maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy industrial mechanical equipment.
• Ensure equipment is safe, mechanically sound, and operating efficiently.
• Travel frequently in-state from Monday to Thursday.

Requirements

• A driver's license with a good driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Three or more years of related journeyman-level experience.
• Completion of a related state-approved apprenticeship is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of hydro-electric generating and pumping systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems and controls.
• Proficient in the safe use of tools and equipment for precision measuring and testing.
• Knowledge of industrial safety requirements including hazardous energy control protocols.

• Location: Phoenix, Arizona at the Phoenix Headquarters Office for Mechanical Maintenance 3.
• Work schedule: 4-10 (Mon-Thur).
