Overview
The Fleet Maintenance Technician II EVT is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment under general supervision. This role does not have supervisory responsibilities and requires a strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, perform maintenance, and repair on light, medium, and heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Service vehicles with fuel, oil, and coolant; perform preventive maintenance by checking battery condition, tire air pressure, coolant and oil levels, and hydraulic and brake fluid levels.
- Perform skilled repair and maintenance on gasoline-powered equipment and vehicles, including replacing bearings, axle seals, and brake master cylinders.
- Repair, overhaul, replace, and rebuild engines and various components of vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems.
- Coordinate with administration and other trades to complete projects/work orders efficiently.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment to ensure availability.
- Conduct installation and removal of auxiliary equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
