Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Technician II EVT is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment under general supervision. This role does not have supervisory responsibilities and requires a strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, perform maintenance, and repair on light, medium, and heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Service vehicles with fuel, oil, and coolant; perform preventive maintenance by checking battery condition, tire air pressure, coolant and oil levels, and hydraulic and brake fluid levels.
• Perform skilled repair and maintenance on gasoline-powered equipment and vehicles, including replacing bearings, axle seals, and brake master cylinders.
• Repair, overhaul, replace, and rebuild engines and various components of vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems.
• Coordinate with administration and other trades to complete projects/work orders efficiently.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment to ensure availability.
• Conduct installation and removal of auxiliary equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
