Job Description

Overview

The Welder position at Hanwha Philly Shipyard involves performing various welding tasks in compliance with safety procedures and specifications. The role requires proficiency in multiple welding processes and the ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures, rules, and regulations set by Hanwha Philly Shipyard.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in heavy shipyard construction welding using approved WPS.
  • Perform various welding processes including FCAW, SMAC, SAW, EGW, and automated welding.
  • Pad and prepare weld joints according to WPS.
  • Conduct internal quality checks of own work to ensure daily quality standards are met.
  • Maintain individual NDT rejection standards as set by Hanwha Philly Shipyard.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Train and instruct lesser skilled welders as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of work experience in welding, preferably with flux core and ceramic.
  • Knowledge of welding robotics and programming is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret approved WPS.
  • Proficient in using all tools related to welding and maintaining welding equipment.
