Overview
GE Vernova is committed to addressing the climate crisis while electrifying the world and decarbonizing energy. The Welder C-Class position involves various welding operations and assisting in repairs at the Chamblee, GA facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform all welding operations including shielded metal arc, submerged arc, plasma arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and oxygen/acetylene.
- Conduct brazing, soldering, and torch cutting operations.
- Develop and work from less complicated prints and sketches.
- Perform layouts and setups for less difficult work.
- Familiarize with base metals, filler metals, and alloy selection.
- Conduct liquid dye penetrant tests.
- Assist with more complicated jobs and train others as needed.
- Maintain machining and material handling equipment.
- Assist with steam turbine repairs and services.
- Help with generator field repair and refurbishing.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least 2 years of experience in welding, machining (conventional or CNC), or technical assembly.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions.

Additional Information
- Full-time onsite position at Chamblee, GA.
- 1st shift schedule during training: Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET.
- 2nd shift schedule after training: Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET.
- Overtime available but not mandatory.
