Overview
The DWM Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor oversees the safe and continuous operation of mechanical equipment and systems at wastewater pump stations. This role involves supervising staff, managing maintenance work, and ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Prioritizes, assigns, and schedules preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
- Estimates cost of materials needed for tasks.
- Manages resources, supplies, and equipment; reads blueprints and diagrams.
- Inspects buildings and troubleshoots equipment to determine maintenance needs.
- Manages staff and recommends personnel actions related to training and performance.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence.
- Operates or oversees operation of various equipment depending on area of assignment.
- Selects from standardized written instructions and procedures to accomplish tasks.
- May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in maintenance, construction, or related area.
- One year of experience in a supervisory position.
- Knowledge of maintenance trades, electric motors, pumps, and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of safety precautions for mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Ability to instruct and supervise employees.
- Ability to plan and design projects from sketches and blueprints.
