Overview

Carter’s Inc. is the largest North American apparel retailer exclusively for babies and young children. The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining the Distribution Center daily using preventive and corrective measures to ensure the safety of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on conveyors and other material handling equipment.
  • Complete, document, and communicate all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot advanced issues and identify long-term solutions for repeat issues.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with peers, departments, and management.
  • Ensure all work is done in accordance with OSHA regulations and Carter’s safety rules.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and work well with management and peers.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to peers on the production floor.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating the maintenance and repair of conveyors, machines, and equipment.
  • Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience with conveyors and 24 VDC/120 VAC control devices.
  • Mig welding, stick welding, and 460 volt 3 phase hands-on experience.
  • Material handling equipment experience (MHE), pneumatic and hydraulics.
  • Ability to operate equipment and pass equipment and safety certification.
  • Experience using routine industrial hand tools.
  • Electrical knowledge and experience installing and replacing outlets, switches, and fixtures.
  • Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and comply with blackout periods.
  • A valid state-issued drivers’ license and a good driving record.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience.

Additional Information

  • This role typically reports into the Sr. Mgr. Safety and Maintenance.
  • The position is based in the Stockbridge Distribution Center.
